Information for Tutors

The Center for Academic Success employs peer tutors for those students seeking additional help with a course. In order to be a CAS tutor, you must have received a grade of A- or better in the class you wish to tutor.
How do I become a tutor?
Please drop by the Center for Academic Success in the Pryzbyla 204 anytime between 9am and 5pm to fill out a tutor application form. To set up an interview, please contact Tori Rowe at rowet@cua.edu.
I did well in the class, but what do I know about tutoring?
The Center provides all new tutors with a training workshop that will help harness your expertise and best facilitate learning.
How much do I get paid?
Tutoring pays $9.25 an hour, with up to fifteen minutes of paid prep work for each tutoring session.
Where can I obtain the proper timesheets and forms?
If you are already a tutor and would like to access the client summary form and time sheet, please click here. You can also obtain timesheets in our offices in the Pryz, Room 204.
