Tutoring Information

The Center for Academic Success will no longer be accepting tutoring referrals after 5:00PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.

As a subdivision of the Center for Academic Success, Tutoring Services provides a streamlined process designed to enhance student learning.  As always, if students need additional help with a course, they are encouraged to seek it immediately.

With this process, students seeking a better understanding of their course material are initially directed to meet with the experts: their instructors.

After meeting(s) with a student, either during office hours or other mutually agreeable times, if an instructor believes that the student can benefit from tutoring, he or she makes an online tutoring referral through the Center for Academic Success.  (Please see the Tutoring Referral Form.)

Once tutoring has begun, it is recommended that the instructor meet with the student to determine if that student has a better understanding of the course material.

Staff members in the Center for Academic Success are available to introduce students to the process in order to better prepare them to meet with their instructors.

While tutoring is not free, the cost is extremely low compared to private tutoring services. The cost for tutoring is:

• For a full semester: $ 55 per course
• For half a semester: $ 35 per course

The amount will be charged to the student's account.
